Elliott Reid, Sleuth in ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,’ Dies at 93

 

Elliott Reid, a character actor familiar to television and movie audiences and probably best remembered as Jane Russell’s love interest in the 1953 film “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” died Friday, June 21 in Studio City, Calif. He was 93.

 

Happy 75th Birthday to actress Kathryn Beaumont

Kathryn Beaumont made her film debut at the age of 6 in 1944 and has done voice-over work as recently as 2010.  She is probably best remembered for providing the voice of Alice in the 1951 animated Disney classic, Alice in Wonderland.

Actor Ralph Waite played John Walton, Sr. on The Waltons from 1972 to 1981.  He made his film debut in the 1967 classic, Cool Hand Luke and can be seen today as a regular on Days of Our Lives.

Happy 81st birthday to film and television composer Lalo Schifrin. He has won four Grammys and has been nominated for six Academy Awards. He is probably best know for writing the theme for Mission Impossibe..
